A CLEARER WAY TO REVIEW

Compare two texts in three steps

01

Paste or import

Add the original and updated text, or open plain-text files from your device. An empty side is valid for a complete addition or deletion.

02

Choose your detail

Use words for prose, characters for tiny edits, or lines for a broad overview. Ignore case or whitespace without changing your inputs.

03

Review every change

Read aligned results, jump between changed sections, and copy or download a report. Use the unified view on smaller screens.

Small edits, clearly visible

Original: The cat is sleeping.

Modified: The dog is sleeping.

Only the changed word needs your attention. Red highlights mark removed text; green highlights mark added text.

Your text stays with you

Comparisons run locally in your browser. This version has no advertising or analytics scripts and does not send your input to a comparison server. Text is not saved between visits.

Questions about comparing text

Can I compare code, JSON, or CSV?

Yes, as plain text. Formatting differences are shown literally. This is not a semantic JSON comparison or spreadsheet comparison, and it does not parse Word documents or PDFs.

What does “ignore whitespace” mean?

Whitespace is ignored within each line when deciding whether it matches, including spaces, tabs, and line endings. Line boundaries still guide alignment. Original content stays intact. Disable this option to inspect formatting changes.

Does it detect moved paragraphs?

Moved content may appear as a deletion and an addition. It is not labeled as a move. Repeated or unrelated lines can have more than one valid alignment.

How large can my comparison be?

Each side supports up to 200,000 characters and 5,000 lines. Difficult comparisons may reach the processing limit; split them into smaller sections if prompted. You can cancel a running comparison.

What keyboard shortcuts are available?

Ctrl + Alt + C compares, Ctrl + Alt + S swaps the inputs, and Ctrl + Alt + R clears them. Use Tab to reach controls and Enter or Space to activate buttons.
